Gears Of War 2

Gears Of War 2 (2008) Xbox 360

If there is a game that our modded Xbox One controllers and our modded Xbox 360 controllers are ideal for it is Gears Of War! Check out the second part of our history of Gears Of War series!

People were very excited for Gears Of War 2 and for many people, this is the best game in the series. Released in 2008, Microsoft and Epic had a smash hit on their hands with Gears Of War 2.

It was just a better and tighter version of the first game. It had better and smoother controls, the graphics were just phenomenal and the story telling was once again incredible. While on the surface the Gears Of War series appears to be about big meat head soldiers. It is actually very character driven and the relationship between Marcus, Dom, Cole, and Baird is just incredibly well done. Without giving spoilers away the search for Dom’s missing wife is one of the most heartbreaking moments you will ever experience in an action game and the game handles it so well it really does not get the credit it deserves for it.

The story is still the COG trying to put an end to the Locust threat, but the twist is that somehow Marcus Fenix’s father is involved with all of this. This was very interesting, but it was left on a cliffhanger and we would have to wait a few years to get it resolved.

Multiplayer was fantastic, even the campaign could be enjoyed by two players with player two playing as Dom. Gears Of War had lots of fun multiplayer battling action such as Submission, Execution, King Of The Hill and Guardian. It was one of the most played games on Xbox Live in 2008/2009.
